The seventieth running of the Junior Men's English National Cross-Country Championships took place at Wollaton Park, Nottingham. The venue was previously used for the National in 2014 and the course was slightly different using one small lap and two large laps making a total of 10km with the start and finish straights.
Despite falling twice in the same ditch on each lap Ellis Cross (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC) won the individual title by twenty metres from Ben Dijkstra (Leicester Coritanian AC). The bronze medal went to Paulos Surafel (Enfield & Haringey AC) who was two places ahead of his twin brother Petros.
Cross told Athletics Weekly: "I knew I was in shape and the training's gone better but after winning last year, I knew the other guys would be watching me and I knew I had to wind it up as I haven't got the track speed of some of these others, so I really made it tough up the last hill."
